Government’s objective is to facilitate trade
Finance and Trade Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that the government’s objective is to facilitate business. No regulation has been followed in the last 16 years. The deficit of 18 thousand crore rupees in the banks did not happen. We are working to restore order in every area starting from law and order.
We want to reduce unnecessary obstacles in business.
A delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AMCHAM) had a courtesy meeting with the advisor in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance at the secretariat on Wednesday. At this time he said these things. During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held on ease of doing business, tariff reduction, shipping facilities, port complexity, traffic congestion and increasing cashless transactions.
Regarding the traffic jam, the advisor said, there is often a traffic jam in Dhaka, I see cars moving in the opposite direction even in Gulshan-Banani. One crore traffic police cannot be appointed for eighteen crore people. There is a need to inculcate civic sense.
Amcham representatives demanded the introduction of deferred payment (delayed payment) in international trade and cash incentives for digital payments. They believe that this will speed up the formation of a cashless society.
Commerce Ministry Secretary Salim Uddin, Amcham President Syed Ershad Ahmed, Executive Member Moinul Haque, Rubaba Daula etc. were present in the meeting.
