Government’s responsibility to suspend registration of Jatiya Party and 14 parties: Rashed Khan
Now it is the government’s responsibility to suspend the registration of Jatiya Party and 14 parties, said Rashed Khan, General Secretary of Gana Odhikar Parishad. He said, although the activities of Awami League have been banned, the government has not taken any action regarding the party’s ally Jatiya Party and 14 parties. We had written to the CEC to suspend the registration of these parties as well. We asked the CEC about this. The CEC said that the commission has nothing to do in this regard. If the government bans them like the Awami League, then the EC can take action. Rashed Khan told reporters after submitting the income and expenditure account to the Election Commission on Monday (July 28). He said, the three elections in Bangladesh were shameful for the nation. We have told the EC that Awami League leaders cannot participate independently in the next elections. The CEC said that those who were in the party’s positions will not be able to participate in the elections. This Gana Odhikar Parishad leader also said that the Jatiya Party has a love affair with the Awami League. Therefore, it is now the government’s responsibility to suspend the registration of the Jatiya Party and the 14 parties. According to the income and expenditure accounts submitted by the People’s Rights Council to the Election Commission for the year 24, the party’s income is 46 lakh 4 thousand 300 taka, expenditure is 45 lakh 96 thousand 88 taka, and surplus is 13 thousand 212 taka.
