Hamza Chowdhury returns home
Hamza Chowdhury returned home ahead of the Singapore match. He was supposed to arrive in Dhaka at 10:30 am on Monday (June 2), but his flight was delayed and he arrived at Shahjalal International Airport at around 11 am.
Javier Cabrera’s team has started a camp at the Dhaka National Stadium since Friday (May 30) ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifier match in Singapore. Practice began the next day. Hamza, who lives in England, will also join soon.
The Singapore match will be held at the National Stadium on June 10. Before that, the red and green representatives will play a friendly match against Bhutan on June 4. Javier Cabrera announced a 26-member team for the two matches on May 28. The team also includes Canadian expatriate Samit Som and Italian expatriate Fahamedul Islam.
Samit Som will return home tomorrow. Fahamedul Islam has already joined the team. He has been in the camp since the first day, he arrived in Dhaka on May 28.
Another English expatriate footballer, Cuba Mitchell, has been in the news for quite some time. However, the good news is that Cuba received a Bangladeshi passport today. However, it is not yet known whether he will be called up before the Singapore match. If Cuba wants to play in the Singapore match on June 10, he will have to apply to the AFC portal by June 3. So the BFF will have to make a decision within today.
