    Headmaster shot by miscreants on his way to school in Khulna

    A headmaster named Dilip Kumar Sarkar was shot by miscreants on his way to school in Khulna.

    The incident took place in front of the Teligati Sardarpara Jame Mosque under Arangghata police station in the city on Thursday (May 15) morning. Dilip Kumar is the headmaster of Teligati High School.

    Locals said that for several days, the miscreants had been demanding extortion from headmaster Dilip Kumar over a land dispute. However, he refused to pay the extortion.

    Dilip Kumar was walking from home to school on Thursday morning. On the way, two men on a motorcycle came and opened fire on him. One bullet pierced his left knee.

    Locals rescued him and first took him to a local clinic. Later, on the advice of the doctor on duty, the headmaster was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

    Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Arangghata police station Md. Tuhinuzzaman said, “I have learned that he was shot over a land and extortion case. The matter is being investigated and looked into. Legal action is under process.”
