Humanitarian crisis in Gaza, 72 more Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks

Another 72 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in the besieged Gaza Strip, Palestine. Several of the dead were waiting at various distribution centers for food aid. The humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip is getting worse every day. Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Sunday (June 29) night. According to medical sources in Gaza, at least 47 people have lost their lives in the Israeli attack that began on Sunday morning in Gaza City and the northern part alone. Al Jazeera journalist Muat al-Qalhut from Gaza said that after Israeli airstrikes in the Zeitoun, Sabra and al-Zawiya market areas, a flood of wounded people flooded into Al-Ahli Hospital in northern Gaza.

He said, “A lot of wounded people have come here, many of them children. There are not enough beds or medical equipment, many are lying on the floor. The hospital is in dire straits. Israel has been distributing leaflets in eastern Gaza City urging people to move south. But these warnings have been followed by heavy bombardment, with casualties mounting. Meanwhile, at least five Palestinians were among those killed on Sunday who had gone to receive aid at a food distribution center north of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The distribution centers are currently run by the much-criticized Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is supported by the United States and Israel.

The Gaza government’s media office said that since the GHF began distributing partial aid to Gaza in late May, Israeli forces have been frequently shooting at people waiting near these centers, killing more than 580 Palestinians and wounding more than 4,000. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deepening. Children and newborns are dying from malnutrition.
