Due to illegal structures being built on the Chagalchhera and Abirkhil canal adjacent to the Joksin-Poddar Bazar road in Banga Khan Union of Sadar Upazila, water flow is being obstructed. In this situation, 10 semi-paved shops and 2 houses built on the canal were evicted to free up the land of the canal and remove waterlogging.

At that time, Surveyor Commissioner Chakma, Shakhayet Hossain, Police Member Md. Mujahid Hossain, Md. Sarwar Hossain and members of the army were present among others during the operation.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhi Das said that due to illegal construction, the normal movement of water in the canal is obstructed and waterlogging occurs during the monsoon season, causing suffering to the local residents.
