India is pushing in at the border to put pressure on the government: Mirza Fakhrul
India has started pushing in at the border to put pressure on the current interim government, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged. He said that Sheikh Hasina fled the country after the fall of the Awami League government and took refuge in India. Therefore, a large number of people are being pushed towards Bangladesh to put pressure on the government.
He said this during an exchange of views with the district’s scholars, ulamas and imams in Kalibari area of his district Thakurgaon on Friday (June 20) night.
Mirza Fakhrul said, we do not get the share of water that Bangladesh has. We have come out of such a terrible situation where people are being shot and killed at the border. The time for the election has been fixed in the discussion between BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and the Chief Advisor, but all the work will not be finished with the election. After the formation of the government, we must be careful that the government functions properly. Vote is our sacred trust – we will vote for those who will work for the welfare of the people and the welfare of Islam.
He further said, no assistance was provided to the scholars and ulama during the previous government. BNP wants to come out of that situation. We cannot think of earning money in other ways. I and my family want to follow an honest path, I had to sell my ancestral property just to do politics. Whatever work I do, I should do it with sincerity. No one other than politicians will understand the sufferings of the people. Only those who are with the people and understand their sufferings, if they are elected and go to parliament, then only good results can be expected from them.
