    Intermittent rain, waterlogging in Sylhet-Rangpur

    It is raining intermittently in various places in Sylhet and Rangpur districts. Waterlogging has occurred in the low-lying areas of these districts. The water level in the rivers is also increasing. As a result, the people of these areas are suffering.

    It has been raining in Sylhet since morning. The Meteorological Department says that 100 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in 3 hours from 6 am to 9 am. The rain has caused waterlogging on various roads in the city including Medical Road, Kajalshah, Bagbari, Notun Bazar, Majortila, Baluchar. Water has also entered houses. Residents are suffering due to this.

    It is also raining intermittently in Rangpur. Waterlogging has occurred in various areas including Kamarpara, Deodoba, Khalifa Para, Mulatole. As a result of the rain, water has also risen in educational institutions. Residents are suffering from waterlogging in many areas as the Shyama Sundori canal has been filled.

    Besides, the water level of Teesta, Dharla, Dudhkumar and other rivers is also rising. Many crop lands in the char areas and low-lying areas have been submerged. Farmers are facing difficulties in harvesting almonds, corn, and Boro rice.
