Investigation into illegal assets against Sheikh Hasina has begun
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has begun an investigation into illegal assets against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in a student-public uprising. The agency’s Deputy Director Masudur Rahman has been given the responsibility of this investigation.
This information was revealed by ACC sources on Sunday (May 18).
According to ACC sources, the investigation team will examine Sheikh Hasina’s movable and immovable assets, including issuing a notice of asset declaration. At the same time, it will match her actual assets with her income tax documents.
Earlier, the ACC had started multiple investigations into plot fraud, money laundering abroad, and looting of project funds. In the meantime, the court issued an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina after filing a chargesheet in the plot fraud case in Purbachal.
In addition, the agency is going to file another case against Sheikh Hasina on charges of looting in the name of a development project at the airport.
