Iran is using ‘banned’ bombs – Israel’s allegations

Iran is firing cluster bombs wrapped in ballistic missiles at Israel. This is the IDF’s allegation against Tehran. Claim – The powerful weapon was used in a recent attack in Tel Aviv. However, the IRGC has not said anything in the wake of such allegations.

June 19. A missile launched by Iran hit Tel Aviv, breaking the silence of the night. Several residential areas suffered unprecedented damage in the series of explosions. At least one of these missiles was equipped with a cluster warhead, the IDF claims.

A dangerous weapon covered in the cloak of a ballistic missile is called a cluster munition. Sometimes it hits in a more dangerous way than a ballistic missile.

Basically, cluster munition warheads are divided into small warheads or submunitions while in the air at an altitude of 7-8 thousand meters above the ground. Which spread to several kilometers in the surrounding area. From where one after another explosions start happening.

The submunitions of cluster bombs can remain active and unexploded in the ground for a long time. If someone comes into contact with them unknowingly, the risk of loss of life increases. In other words, it can also be considered a type of living mine.

An international agreement called the Convention on Cluster Munitions was signed in 2008. The storage, transportation and use of cluster bombs is prohibited. More than 100 countries have signed it. However, the United States, Israel and Iran have not signed the agreement.

Only a handful of countries, including superpowers such as the United States, Russia and China, have a cluster technology missile arsenal. It is believed that Iran also has this warhead in its mysterious missile fleet. One of which is the Khyber and Fajr III ballistic missiles.
