Ishraq demands resignation of two advisors
Party leader Engineer Ishraq Hossain has alleged that two advisors are working to prevent BNP from participating in the elections.
He made this allegation while addressing the leaders and activists who had taken up positions in front of Jamuna, the residence of the chief advisor, on Wednesday (May 21) evening.
Ishraq said, I was optimistic about a new party. But two government advisors are aiding so that BNP cannot participate in the elections and cannot hold them. In this situation, Asif Mahmud must resign immediately. Another advisor Mahfuz Alam must also resign.
Calling on the advisors to resign and conduct political activities, he further said, let them resign and conduct their political activities. No interference can be allowed in this government.
The young BNP leader said, I never intended to take the oath. I have been discriminated against, I could not sit even after getting the verdict. Therefore, this is not a movement for any one position, this movement is to demand national elections in December.
He said, “We want a roadmap for the elections. No one will leave the movement until their demands are met.”
Mentioning that the Election Commission is being held hostage, Ishraq said, “The Election Commission is an independent institution, its verdict must be accepted.”
According to him, attempts are being made to hold the Election Commission hostage, so will the EC be able to maintain neutrality in the national elections? We will not allow another dictatorship to be born on the soil of Bengal. If it does, we are ready to give a befitting reply at any time, just like Hasina’s decision, he warned.
