Islamic Movement leader stabbed, sent to DMCH from Narayanganj
There have been allegations of a terrorist attack on Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, the president of Bandar Thana Uttar of the Islamic Movement in Narayanganj, for preventing him from consuming drugs. People from the drug syndicate stabbed him with sharp weapons in various parts of his body, seriously injuring him. Dr. Mamun has been sent to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital for advanced treatment.
A press release sent by the party on Wednesday (July 2) night said that the terrorist attack took place at 9 pm in the Amirabad area of Bandar upazila. The press release further said that local drug addicts in the Amirabad area got angry with Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun for preventing him from consuming drugs. Later, on Wednesday, he was attacked at around 9 pm on his way home after Isha prayers. The release said that local identified terrorists Biki, Emon, Sujan and Nazim, along with a few others, were involved in the attack.
Narayanganj Metropolitan City President Mufti Masum Billah said that if the administration does not immediately arrest and punish the attackers, then the administration will have to take all responsibility for the situation that has arisen. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station Liaquat Ali told Somoy Sangbad that the police station reached the spot after receiving the information about the attack. An investigation into the incident and an operation to arrest the attackers are underway.
