Israel claims to have killed top IRGC commander Sadmani
Israel has claimed to have killed Ali Sadmani, the head of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters.
Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday (June 17) that Sadmani was described as Iran’s most senior military commander and the closest person to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
However, there was no immediate reaction from Iran on this matter. Khatam al-Anbiya is the construction and engineering branch of the IRGC.
Sadmani was appointed to this position after Israel killed Gholam Ali Rashid, the former commander of Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters, on Friday.
Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran last Friday. Several top Iranian officials and scientists were killed in attacks on various military and nuclear facilities.
Tehran then retaliated. Iran and Israel have been exchanging attacks for the fifth day.
