Due to bureaucratic complications and lack of coordination, it is not possible to send skilled workers to Japan as expected despite repeated agreements, said Dr. Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment. He said that despite repeated agreements, it is not possible to send skilled workers to Japan as expected due to bureaucratic complications and lack of coordination.
Asif Nazrul said these things in response to questions from journalists after a seminar on ‘Japan: New Labor Market, Possibilities, Challenges and Things to Do’ at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Wednesday (June 2) morning. He said that there is an opportunity for at least one lakh Bangladeshi workers to get jobs in Japan in the next five years. For this, a separate cell has been set up to send workers to the country.
In addition, due to irregularities and corruption of the previous government, Malaysia is also delaying the resumption of sending workers, the advisor said, efforts are being made to amend the existing agreement to ensure transparency and accountability in sending workers to the country. He said, “All processes in government work are delayed due to corruption. Due to the irregularities and corruption of the previous government, there is a delay in resuming sending workers to Malaysia.”
