Ivy remanded in Sajal murder case, Shon arrested in Sayeed assassination attempt case

A court has granted a two-day remand to former City Corporation Mayor and District Awami League Senior Vice President Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy in the Sajal murder case in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj during the student uprising. At the same time, she has been ordered to be arrested in a murder attempt case in Fatullah.

The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mainuddin Kadir of the district issued this order after hearing the two cases on Wednesday (June 18) morning. At this time, Ivy appeared in the court hearing from Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur.

According to court sources, the police applied for a seven-day remand for questioning Ivy in the Sajal murder case in Siddhirganj. At the same time, Ivy’s lawyers applied for bail. After the hearing, the court rejected the bail application and granted a two-day remand. Later, in the same court, the police applied to show Ivy a copy of the arrest warrant in the Fatullah Sayeed assassination attempt case, and the court granted it.

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, said that Ivy is an accused in the Sajal murder case during the anti-discrimination movement in Siddhirganj. We hope that many sensational information will be found if he is interrogated.

On the other hand, Ivy’s lawyer, Advocate Awlad Hossain, said that there is no specific mention of Ivy’s involvement in the statement of these two cases. In addition, there is no description of any charges against Ivy in the two cases. We hope that the court will do justice.

It is worth noting that on May 9, law enforcement officers arrested former mayor Ivy from his house in the city’s West Deobhog area. Later, he was sent to Kashimpur jail on the orders of the court. There are a total of six cases against Ivy at Siddhirganj and Fatullah police stations in the district on charges of murder and attempted murder.
