Jamaat’s PR efforts aimed at postponing elections: Major (retd) Hafiz
BNP standing committee member Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has said that Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to make people forget the sacrifices made by the people in the Liberation War in various ways. He said that the party is using PR messages to delay the elections. He made these comments at a discussion program titled ‘Anniversary of the Mass Uprising: Speedy Trial, Fundamental Reforms and National Parliament Elections’ at the National Press Club on Friday (August 8) morning. Hafiz said that the people of the country do not understand the PR system. It is necessary to hold national elections under the existing system. He also said that people are surprised to hear various things said by Jamaat-e-Islami. Regarding the upcoming national elections, he said that there is a fear of holding peaceful elections with this police force that has not undergone minimum reforms even in a year. Sitting in India, Sheikh Hasina has planned various maneuvers to destabilize the country before the elections, urging the people to be vigilant, this senior BNP leader said.
