Japanese Ambassador meets Jamaat Ameer, what was discussed?
Japan hopes for fair, impartial, peaceful and participatory elections in Bangladesh. The country’s Ambassador Saida Shinichi said this after a meeting with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
On Sunday (June 22) morning, the Japanese Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the Jamaat-e-Islami central office in Moghbazar in the capital.
In this hour-long meeting, various issues including how Jamaat leaders and activists were tortured during the past fascist era, offices were closed, various atrocities including the hanging of leaders, mirror houses were highlighted.
In addition, the party’s Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said that they discussed how the two countries can work bilaterally or benefit from industry, trade and business. He also said that a bilateral meeting will be held soon in this regard.
