Khaleda Zia calls for maintaining unity

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has said that the country’s independence and sovereignty must be protected at any cost. At the same time, everyone in the country must maintain unity. She made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion titled ‘Mass Uprising 2024: National Unity and Democratic Movement’ at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Tuesday (July 1). Begum Zia said that for 16 long years, the Awami League ruling group wanted to destroy democracy and perpetuate the one-party rule by perpetuating the one-party rule through torture, arrest, torture, murder and disappearance of fascists. Fascism has fallen through the joint uprising of students and the public. An opportunity has been created to build a new Bangladesh.

A list of those who have been victims of disappearances, murders and extrajudicial killings must be prepared. Speedy trial and state recognition must be ensured. Respectful rehabilitation and a safe future for every family must be ensured. The BNP Chairperson said that employment must be created. The security of the people must be ensured. Above all, the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh must be protected. The program began at 3 pm with recitation of the Quran and prayers. After that, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs and the national anthem was played. A documentary on the mass uprising was screened.
