    Knee-deep water in low-lying areas due to continuous rain in Chittagong

    Heavy rain has been falling since dawn in the port city of Chittagong. This has led to waterlogging in several areas of the city.

    Torrential rains began in the early hours of Sunday (June 1). This has submerged several low-lying areas including Chawkbazar, Baklia, Gate No. 2, Muradpur, Agrabad in the city.

    Water has entered various business establishments and homes from the roads due to the continuous rain. However, office-goers have suffered the most. They have to face public transport crisis to return to work after the weekend.

    In addition, the suffering of working people has also increased due to rain and waterlogging. The city residents are angry that the projects taken to resolve waterlogging have not yielded results. They have demanded effective steps to solve the problem.
