    LP gas price reduced further

    The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced again at the consumer level. The price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been reduced by Tk 39 to Tk 1,364 for the month of July. The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a new price reduction on Wednesday (July 2). The agency said that the new price will be effective from 6 pm today. BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed said that the price of 12 kg LPG has been reduced by Tk 39 to Tk 1,364 for the month of July.

    The last adjustment of LP gas prices was made on June 2. At that time, the price of a 12-kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 28 to Tk 1,403. At the same time, BERC also reduced the price of autogas on Wednesday. In July, the price of autogas has been reduced by 1 taka 84 paisa to 62 taka 46 paisa per liter including VAT. The last adjustment of autogas prices was made on June 2. At that time, the price of autogas including VAT was reduced by 1 taka 27 paisa to 64 taka 30 paisa per liter at the consumer level.

    In a press release sent to the media, BERC said that considering the Saudi CP of Saudi Aramco’s propane and butane for the month of July at 575 US dollars and 545 US dollars per metric ton respectively and the average Saudi CP of propane and butane at 555.50 US dollars per metric ton based on the propane and butane ratio of 35:65, the prices of private LPG and autogas have been adjusted at the consumer level for the month of July.

    It is to be noted that in 2024, the prices of LPG and autogas were reduced by 4 points and increased by 7 points. This point remained unchanged. Last year, LPG and autogas prices were increased in January, February, March, July, August, September and October. And the prices were reduced in April, May, June and November. However, the prices remained unchanged in December.
