Meaningful dialogue is needed at this moment: Jamaat Ameer
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, we have already held a meeting of the executive council. After discussing, we have concluded that it will not be appropriate to push the nation into uncertainty through conflict and mudslinging under any circumstances. This culture should end. Meaningful dialogue is needed for this.
He said these things in his inaugural speech at the party’s central Majlis-e-Shura session at Al Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar in the capital on Saturday (May 24) morning.
He said, the current government should arrange for this dialogue. No matter how big the problem, we believe that it is possible to reach a satisfactory solution through discussion.
Regarding the recent events in the country, the Jamaat Ameer said, the recent events in the country have disturbed everyone. Although we are not disturbed, we are keeping a careful eye on it as a responsible organization. In this situation, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami cannot remain silent. He said, Jamaat-e-Islami has taken steps as a party. Among them, we have called on the government to call an all-party meeting by holding an executive council meeting. We hope that something good will come out of that meeting by prioritizing national interests. We have seen in the past that when the country and the people faced each other in such situations, dialogue was also successful. We are optimistic that a solution is possible through dialogue.
