New drug use and trafficking strategies are being developed: Home Affairs Advisor
Noting that new drug use and trafficking strategies are being developed in this era of modern technology, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that these must be prevented. He said this at a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony organized on the occasion of the ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2025’ at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday (June 26) morning.
The Home Affairs Advisor said, ‘The country’s economic development is being hampered by the invasion of drugs. Women and children are being used in drug trafficking. Due to this, they are also getting caught in the terrible grip of drugs.’ He also said, ‘Anti-drug campaigns are needed in every district and upazila. Along with this, treatment centers for drug addicts should be run at the divisional level.’ The Home Affairs Advisor called on everyone to be aware of the multidimensional problem of illegal drug trafficking and to prevent it.
