Nusrat Faria incident is turning the trial process into a farce: NCP
The National Citizens Party (NCP) has commented that the arrest and imprisonment of actress Nusrat Faria in an attempt-to-murder case is turning the trial process into a farce.
This was stated in a press release signed by the party’s Joint Member Secretary (Office) Saleh Uddin Sifat on Monday (May 19) night.
The press release said that actress Nusrat Faria was arrested by the Immigration Police from the capital’s Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday in an attempt-to-murder case filed at Bhatara Police Station. Later, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court ordered her to be sent to jail on Monday. The National Citizens Party (NCP) believes that such incidents are turning the trial process into a farce.
The NCP says that former President Abdul Hamid, accused of attacking and shooting during the July coup, left the country without any hindrance this month. The identities of 626 people who were sheltered in various cantonments after the coup have not yet been revealed. In addition, the fallen fascists and their supporters who were directly involved in the July Genocide are still continuing their anti-citizen activities in public and on social media.
The notification further states that the arrest and imprisonment of those directly involved in the July Genocide in such trumped-up and trumped-up cases without bringing them to justice is creating a tendency to trivialize the genocide trial process.
We believe that a faction within the existing state structure and administration wants to question the ‘July Genocide’ and its trial process through such subversive activities. However, we have not seen any visible progress in the trial of this genocide so far. Although the interim government has decided to form the International Crimes Tribunal-2 to accelerate the trial process, we have not seen any notification for its implementation so far.
The statement further said that the National Citizens Party (NCP) wants to see visible progress in the July massacre trial process by the month of July. To that end, we strongly demand that the interim government take immediate and appropriate steps. In addition, the NCP called on the law enforcement agencies to be careful in accepting cases, taking into account the issue of cases and case trading in Haredar.
