Officials and employees announce to shut down the secretariat if the ordinance is not repealed by today

Officials and employees have announced to shut down the secretariat if the Government Service Amendment Ordinance 2025 is not repealed by today. They have also decided not to work on CL leave.

On Monday (May 26), the Bangladesh Secretariat Officials and Employees Sangukte Parishad is holding a protest and sit-in strike program demanding the repeal of the ordinance. The leaders of the council made such an announcement from here.

Hundreds of officials and employees joined the protest by stopping the work of the office for the third day since this morning. At this time, the main gates to enter the secretariat were closed. They also held a sit-in strike in front of the Cabinet Division and Public Administration Building.

The leaders of the council said that due to the new ordinance, officials and employees can be relieved from their jobs at will. There is no scope for appeal. Therefore, it has been decided to continue the movement until the controversial section of the ordinance is repealed. During this time, in addition to the work stoppage, they also threatened to disconnect the electricity supply to the Secretariat.

Earlier, the Secretariat officials and employees had been demanding that the new ordinance not be issued in the movement that has been going on for the past three days. Later, when the ordinance was issued yesterday evening, they announced a strict program today demanding its withdrawal, calling it regressive and black law.
