US President Donald Trump suddenly announced that the two countries had agreed to a ceasefire after long diplomatic talks between the United States and the leadership of India and Pakistan.

He added, “A big and sensible country like the US understands better what the sentiments of the people of Pakistan are.”
Regarding the ceasefire with India, Lieutenant General Chaudhry praised the “extraordinary work” of diplomats. “They have engaged the international community with great wisdom and in an extraordinary way.”
Meanwhile, referring to the downing of five Indian aircraft in response to New Delhi’s deadly attack on the night of May 6-7, the DG ISPR said, “Pakistan has responded to India’s attack with great maturity, immediately, firmly and effectively. It has forced the enemy to face reality.”
