Qatar temporarily closes airspace
Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace as part of measures taken in light of the regional situation. The country’s Foreign Ministry announced this in a statement on its X handle (formerly Twitter) today (Monday, June 23). Al Jazeera reported.
The statement said that this decision was taken as part of ensuring the safety of the country’s citizens and foreign travelers.
The decision to close Qatar’s airspace comes at a time when Iran has warned of retaliation after the US attack on its nuclear facilities.
Earlier, the US and UK advised their citizens in Qatar to stay home until further notice.
