Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 in Club World Cup

Real Madrid, the competition’s record five-time champions, defeated Juventus 1-0 in the last 16 match at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium. Gonzalo Garcia scored the only goal to send Alonso’s men into the last eight. Juventus had several chances from the start of the match but failed to score. However, Xabi Alonso’s team gradually increased the pressure. Although the two teams shared possession in the first half of the game, Real was ahead in attack. 11 of their 22 shots were on target. On the other hand, Juventus managed to put 2 of their 6 attacks on target, but they were not on target. Thus, the first half ended in a goalless draw.

Then, Real continued to increase the pressure on their opponents in the second half of the match. Finally, Garcia broke the deadlock. In the 54th minute of the match, he gave Real the lead with a great header from Alexander-Arnold’s cross. However, Juventus missed several opportunities to equalize. At the end, when Muani fell in the box, Juventus appealed for a penalty. But the referee did not respond and Juventus had to leave the field with the disappointment of the defeat.
