Relief finally enters Gaza after three months of closure
After a three-month complete closure, relief has finally entered Gaza. On Monday (May 19), 9 trucks carrying emergency aid entered the besieged valley.
The UN Secretary-General’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, confirmed the matter in a statement. However, he also said that this relief is very small compared to the needs. He also mentioned that at least 500 relief trucks need to be sent to the valley daily to save the people of Gaza.
On the other hand, the World Food Program said that they have stockpiled four months of food supplies for one million people in Gaza at the border. However, Israel has not yet clarified how much relief will be allowed into the valley or how it will be distributed.
