Renowned nuclear scientist and education administrator Dr. M Shamsher Ali Ashrafi is no more with us

Eminent nuclear scientist, former professor of Dhaka University, founding Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University and Open University, Professor Emirates Dr. M Shamsher Ali Ashrafi Sir passed away at the age of 87 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on 2.8.2025 at 3:30 pm (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). Chairman of Anjuman A Ashrafia Charitable Trust Alhaj Ali Hossain Sohag Ashrafi and General Secretary Alhaj Dr. Suraet Rahman Raktim Ashrafi expressed deep shock and condolences on the death of a devoted follower of Ashrafia Silsila in a joint statement and said that the entire nation is mourning the loss of a beloved prophet of Bangladesh, a renowned educationist and a close friend of Ashrafia Silsila.
May Almighty Allah grant him the highest rank in Jannatul Firdous through the intercession of Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir Simnani (RA). Amen.
