Rizvi demands justice for those who misbehaved with Nurul Huda

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has demanded punishment for those who misbehaved with former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nurul Huda.

He spoke to reporters at the Nayapaltan BNP central office on Monday (June 23) afternoon.

Rizvi said that those who are doing mob justice in the name of justice should be identified and brought under the law.

He said that those who are guilty will be tried. But BNP does not believe in such a policy that someone will misbehave with them outside the court. The public behavior with the former CEC is undoubtedly a despicable act. Whoever is involved in this incident should be tried.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General said that it is the government’s responsibility to provide maximum security in the court premises. People expect security in such a sensitive place. And it cannot be that someone will do illegal things there.

The BNP leader said, “Some parties are trying to fish in troubled waters based on this incident. I want to make it clear that since August 5, our Chairperson and Acting Chairman have given a clear message that no one who creates chaos and is involved in immoral activities within the party will be spared. Those of us who were in jail at that time tried to keep everyone disciplined while we were still in jail.”

He said, “So far, punitive action has been taken against more than 4,000 BNP leaders and activists based on allegations. This proves that BNP is working for peace, comfort and a democratic system in Bangladesh. We are determined to ensure that democracy-minded people can practice democracy.”
