Sohag murder: Three accused including Robin on 7-day remand

A court has granted seven-day remand to Nannu Kazi, Rizwan Uddin and Tarique Rahman Robin, the masterminds behind the murder of scrap dealer Lal Chand alias Sohag in front of Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka. On Wednesday (July 16), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Saifuzzaman gave the order after the hearing. The investigation officer of the case, Kotwali Police Station OC Moniruzzaman, presented the accused in court and applied for a 10-day remand. There was no lawyer for the accused. After the hearing, the court ordered a 7-day remand for each of the accused. The accused in the murder case are: Tarique Rahman Robin, Md. Nannu Kazi and Rizwan Uddin alias Abhijit Basu. Among the accused, Robin had previously pleaded guilty in the arms case. The other two were newly arrested. Earlier, on July 9, Sohag was publicly killed by crushing his body and head with a concrete boulder in front of Gate No. 3 of Mitford Hospital. His sister Manjuara Begum filed a case on Thursday as the plaintiff in this incident. In the past few days, eight people including Mahmudul Hasan Mohin (41), Tarique Rahman Robin (22), Alamgir (28), Monir alias Lomba Monir (32), Titon Gazi (32) and Kazi Nannu were arrested in this case.
