Starlink officially starts its journey in Bangladesh, lowest monthly cost 4,200 taka
Satellite internet service provider Starlink has officially started its operations in Bangladesh. Special Assistant to the Principal Advisor (Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology) Faiz Ahmed Tayyab confirmed this information in a post on social media Facebook on Tuesday (May 20) morning.
Faiz Ahmed said in his Facebook status, Starlink has officially started its journey in Bangladesh. They informed me about the matter over a phone call on Monday afternoon and confirmed the matter on their X handle this morning.
He said that initially the company will provide internet services through two packages ‘Starlink Residence’ and ‘Residence Light’. Of these, the monthly cost of the Starlink Residential package has been set at 6,000 taka and the monthly cost of the Residential Light package is 4,200 taka. However, for both packages, customers will have to bear a one-time equipment cost of 47,000 taka, he said.
He added that interested customers can order their connection from today by visiting Starlink’s website or through the designated platform. He also mentioned that although there is a small initial cost, this has created a sustainable option for premium customers to receive high-speed internet service.
