    Terrorists attack contractor in Tangail

    A terrorist attack has taken place on a contractor named Mushtaq Ahmed Rana (55) in Tangail. The incident took place at Beltiabari intersection in the city on Monday (May 26) afternoon.

    The injured Mushtaq Ahmed Rana is the son of the deceased Abdur Razzak of Palashtali area of ​​the city. He is a contractor with the Power Development Board.

    Eyewitness Hasan Sadiq said, Rana and five of us contractors were sitting in a shop. At that time, the terrorists called Rana from the shop and started beating him with rods. Later, when they went forward with people, a group of 6-7 people fired four to five blank rounds with two revolvers and quickly left. Later, he was taken to Tangail General Hospital in a seriously injured condition.

    Rana’s family alleged that he had been in a dispute with a party over land-related issues for a long time. They suspect that the attack could have occurred due to some conflict related to land or contracting.

    Hashim Reza, a doctor in charge of the emergency department of Tangail General Hospital, said that the injured person has injury marks on various parts of his body. He is currently undergoing treatment.

    Tangail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvir Ahmed said that one person was injured, but the matter of blank firing is not known. An investigation is underway in this regard. He also said that necessary measures will be taken based on evidence at that time.

    On the other hand, after inspecting the scene, Tangail Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police HM Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui also said that necessary measures will be taken based on the investigation.
