Testimony to be taken against Sheikh Hasina-Joy-Putul in 3 corruption cases today
The day has been set for taking testimony against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul and other accused in the corruption case of allocating plots to the Capital Development Authority-RAJUK today. Today, Monday (August 11), the court of Judge Md. Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka’s Special Judge’s Court No. 5 will record the testimony of witnesses in these cases, it has been learned. The state has already issued summons to the plaintiffs in these three cases to appear in court. The plaintiffs in the three cases are ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin, Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya and SM Rashedul Hasan. The same court ordered the start of the trial by framing charges in these cases on July 31. Since the defendants were absconding that day, arrest warrants were issued against them. Twelve people, including Sheikh Hasina, 17 including Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and 18 including Saima Wazed Putul, have been named as accused in three separate cases.
