Thunderstorms and rain with a speed of 60 kmph are expected in the evening

The Meteorological Office is expecting thunderstorms and rain with a speed of up to 60 kmph over 6 districts of the country.

This has been informed in a warning issued for the country’s inland river ports till 6 pm on Monday (June 2).

The notification signed by Meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir said that temporary gusty or squally winds with a speed of 45 to 60 kmph may blow from the west or southwest over Mymensingh, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet districts. Along with this, rain or thunder may occur.

Therefore, river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, according to another notification of the Meteorological Office, temporary gusty winds with lightning and rain or thunder are predicted in all divisions of the country for the next few days. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places.
