Total unemployed in the country is 2.6 million 10 thousand: Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics

The number of unemployed people in the country has increased. The total number of unemployed people in the country at the end of 2024 is 2.6 million 10 thousand, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

According to the data published by the Bureau of Statistics’ labor force survey, the number of unemployed people increased by 60 thousand during October-December 2024 compared to the previous three months (July-September). At the end of September 2024, the unemployed population was 2.5 million 50 thousand.

Meanwhile, BBS data says that the unemployment rate in the country was 4.48 percent in 2024. On the other hand, it was 4.15 percent in 2023.
