A terrible wildfire is burning in the western province of Izmir in Turkey. On Sunday (June 29), local time, a fire broke out in the forest area of the coastal province. The fire spread to the surrounding areas in an instant due to the intensity of the wind. With a wind speed of 100 kilometers per hour, the flames of the fire spread to the popular tourist city of Manderes in Turkey. As a result, Izmir International Airport was temporarily closed.

The administration has evacuated residents from 6 areas near the forest. More than 1,000 fire service personnel are working to bring the fire under control. In addition, chemicals are being sprayed from 11 planes and 27 helicopters. Local authorities fear extensive damage due to the impact of the fire.
