    Two houses robbed in one night in Chuadanga, cash and gold ornaments looted

    Two houses were robbed in the same night in Damurhuda, Chuadanga. A group of masked robbers held the members of the house hostage at gunpoint and looted cash, gold ornaments and goods worth lakhs of taka.

    The incident took place at around 1:30 am on Monday (May 26) at the house of Atiar Rahman (45) and Anwar Hossain (52), two sons of the deceased Junab Ali of Purana Bastpur village of Damurhuda upazila.

    Damurhuda police station police recovered three bomb-like objects from the scene. Senior police and district administration officials also visited the scene.

    Homeowner Atiar Rahman said that a group of 10-12 masked robbers climbed over the wall of the house and entered it at around 12:30 am on Sunday. First, the three entered Atiyar’s house, showed him and his family members country-made weapons, grabbed them by the throat, and tied their eyes and hands. Later, they looted 52,000 taka from the house.

    Later, they knocked on the door of their younger brother Anwar Hossain’s house with him. As soon as the door was opened, three more masked robbers grabbed Anwar Hossain and his wife with sharp saws (also country-made weapons) around their necks and tied their eyes and faces. Then, after looting 30,000 taka and a gold earring weighing 4 annas from the house, they opened the main gate and escaped without incident.

    The police received information that night and recovered two bomb-like objects wrapped in scotch tape from the asphalt road about 100 yards away from the scene. Later, on Tuesday morning, Additional Superintendent of Police of Damurhuda-Jibannagar Circle Zakia Sultana, Chuadanga DB OC Mashiur Rahman, OC (Cyber ​​Crime) Anisur Rahman, SI Muhith Hasan and SI Ramen Sarkar visited the scene.

    During the inspection, another bomb-like object was recovered from the forest about 100 yards away from the scene.

    Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said, “The bomb disposal team has been informed. The incident is being investigated. No case has been filed yet, the process is underway. The operation to identify and arrest the robbers is ongoing.”
