Very heavy rainfall forecast in three divisions
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in three divisions of the country in the next 24 hours. This information was given in a press release signed by the organization’s Director (Forecast) Dr. Md. Omar Faruk on Saturday (July 5). It said that due to the activity of the southwest monsoon, heavy (44-88 mm/24 hours) to very heavy (89 mm/24 hours) rainfall may occur in some places in Chittagong, Khulna and Barisal divisions for the next 24 hours from 10 am today. It was further said that due to the very heavy rainfall, there is a possibility of landslides in some places in the hilly areas of Chittagong division. In that case, waterlogging may also occur in some places in Chittagong metropolis due to heavy rainfall.
