Whole body burned, rope tied around neck: Who brutally murdered child Roja?
Five-year-old child Roja Moni was brutally murdered by miscreants in the capital’s Tejkuni Para. She was scalded by pouring hot water on her body and tied around her neck with a rope.
Roja’s body was recovered in a sack in a drain next to her house on Tuesday (May 13) morning, 20 hours after she went missing while playing. Police say they are investigating all factors, including a family dispute, to find out the motive for the murder.

At one stage of the search, at around 10 am on Tuesday, locals saw a sack floating in a drain next to her house. Everyone was suspicious. They opened the sack and saw Roja’s body coming out of it.
Everyone was shocked to see the body. The whole body was scalded with hot water, and a rope was tied around the neck. The locals have demanded exemplary punishment for such murderers.
Tejgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Abdul Quader said that they have collected CCTV footage from the area around the incident. They are also trying to find out the motive of the incident from all angles, whether there is a family dispute or enmity with the family. Along with the police, DB and RAB are working to catch the accused.
