Why is action not being taken against corrupt officials of DMP, asks Sarjis

Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) chief organizer Sarjis Alam has asked why action is not being taken against extortionists and bribe-taking officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

He raised this question by posting on his verified account on social media Facebook on Thursday (May 22) night.

In the post, Sarjis wrote, ‘The DMP Commissioner is rewarding various police officers for their responsible role. Very good. But some crooked extortionists in the form of DMP police are still taking bribes, sharing in extortion, harassing in false cases.’

He wrote, ‘They are going to arrest innocent people, releasing accused in exchange for money – why are you not taking action against these crooked policemen? Stop their rampant business. If you catch them this time, there will be no exemption.’
