    Youth have led the way in restoring democracy: Sports Advisor

    Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan inaugurated a workshop on the Commonwealth Charter in Dhaka.

    Inaugurating the workshop at a hotel in the capital on Monday (June 23) morning, he said that the Commonwealth Charter is not just a document, but a living promise, which reminds us of the commitment to democracy, human rights, gender equality and sustainable development.

    He said that 60 percent of the Commonwealth’s population is below 30 years of age, and this rate is even higher in Bangladesh. Youth are the driving force behind this change. Referring to the recent July uprising, he said that youth have led the way in restoring democracy. The advisor called for active participation in implementing the ideals of the Charter.

    Representatives from home and abroad, including the Assistant Secretary General of the Commonwealth, were present at the workshop.
