Youth stabbed to death in Pabna over past enmity, 1 arrested
A youth named Roni Mondal (24) who was stabbed to death over past enmity in Pabna has died. The police have arrested an accused named Emon Hossain (27).
He died while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Monday (May 26) morning. Earlier, he was stabbed in the Launchghat area of Pabna Sadar Upazila around 12 midnight on Sunday (May 25).
The deceased Roni Mondal is the son of Jahangir Mondal of Char-Ashutoshpur Launchghat Paschimpara area of Dogachhi Union of Sadar Upazila. And the arrested Emon is the son of Shukur Ali of Char-Ashutoshpur Launchghat area of the same upazila.
According to local and family sources of the deceased, there had been a dispute between Roni and Emon for a long time. On Sunday night, Emon tactfully called Roni and stabbed him and fled. The locals rescued Roni and first admitted him to Pabna General Hospital. Later, when his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital. Rony died while undergoing treatment there.
Ramec Hospital spokesperson Shankar K Biswas said that Rony Mondal was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 4 am on Sunday. He died on Monday morning while undergoing treatment there.
Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Salam said that the accused Emon was arrested the night after the incident. He said that an investigation is being conducted to find out why Rony was stabbed.
