Yunus-Tarique meeting: The message that Khosru gave after returning home
The meeting of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman with chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in London, UK, has paved the way for the nation to fulfill its long-standing expectations for democracy, believes Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the party’s standing committee.
He told reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday (June 15) morning after returning from London.
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that since the nation could not exercise their voting rights for almost 20 years, the issue of holding elections as soon as possible has gained importance in the discussion. And in this case, the most needed was consensus, which they have been able to achieve.
When asked about reforms, this BNP standing committee member said that whatever reforms are needed on the basis of consensus will be done now. The remaining reforms will be done after the elections.
